The Fremont Bag by Klum House

I've had my eye on this gorgeous bag from Klum House for a while, and finally sprung for one a month or so ago. What a blast to put this thing together and the end result is spectacular. I've never sewn on waxed canvas before, but am a convert now. Even my son liked it and asked if I can make him a messenger bag with the same look. Here is Fremont 1: I loved it so much, I bought a kit in a second color. Here is Fremont 2: And here are the twins! The kits are really nice--cutting and marking done for you. I also took Ellie Lum's Bluprint class for this bag , which I highly recommend. All sorts of great tips for working with waxed canvas and general bag making in addition to easy to follow step-by-step directions for the Fremont. Annie Unrein's 'Ultimate Travel Bag'

Took a break from knitting a sweater for Finn, who is working very hard at rolling over right now (see gratuitous baby video above), to make this awesome Annie Unrein (of By Annie) 'Ultimate Travel Bag.' I purchased the kit and Annie's 'Sew Sturdy' online course from Bluprint. It is nice and roomy and will make an excellent diaper bag. I love the light colored lining and extra long double zipper at the top. Really nice for being able to open it up wide to see everything in your bag. This was a fairly intense project. Not really difficult (although getting binding around really thick fabric sandwiches was a chore), but lots of pieces, steps and sewing. I was so glad to have had the course available to help guide me through it. I used my Janome HD3000, which is billed as their 'heavy duty' machine. Fleece Sleep Sac McCalls 7219

Loved this soft-looking fleece with elephants, which I picked up at Joann's on sale. This pattern is mult-sized with S, M, L and XL in one package. I cut the medium and it is plenty big--like 9 months or possilby even 12 months size. Ditto the hat, which is very large. Very easy pattern. The hardest part was lining up the elephants. The pattern does not include a zipper pull cover tab, so I added one as having a zipper pull stuck under your chin when you are too small to move it would be pretty irritating.
