Don't you
just hate it when you go to extraordinary lengths to get things right and they
still go wrong? Wasn't sure whether to confess this or not, as so far no one
has noticed, but my little booties are not mirror-image like they should be.
Even though I carefully transferred the embroidery pattern to the felt, I
managed to get my thread colors wrong so they are identical on the booties--not mirror image.
Oh well, they weren't intended for
an actual baby, anyway. Just a fun, quick little project made with Simplicity pattern #2397. Very easy--just requires a single square of craft felt for two booties. There are two seams, a
very short one in the back of the heel and one to attach the sole to the sides. I sewed the seams on a sewing machine, but it could probably be done by
hand, as well. The embellishments are very simple embroidery stitches
that even a novice (read: me) could learn from freely available YouTube videos
and the ties attach through grommet holes made with scrap booking supplies. Quick,
fun project and next time I'll get it right--maybe!
